Chasing Nowhere - the least funny thing on this site

So I'm not ALWAYS doing comedy.  This is a hip hopera video surrounding the issues of Heroin usage I put together with some  young people for work.  I feel like if I get you really depressed now, you'll appreciate it more when I make you laugh later.  Enjoy.

Chasing Nowhere - A Heroin Hip Hopera by RustaRhymes

Movie Review: Smurfs 3-D (on mushrooms)

Last Sunday we took my girlfriend's son to watch Smurfs 3D.  I decided since it was his 10th birthday it would be good to take him to the 10:00pm showing, even though his first day of school was the next day.  In retrospec I realize that it wasn't the best idea, but it seemed logical when I was hyped up on 20mgs of his Adderall.  Just kidding, he's not on Addrall.  He should be, but his mom doesn't have insurance and that shit's expensive with out it.  That's why when we need him to focus we just give him a RedBull and a spoonful of cocaine.  Back to the movie...

We walf from my pad to Century Rio Downtown.  Upon arrival we discovered that there's a extra $4.00 charge for 3D movies, bringing the ticket price to $15.50 each.  I thought this was rediculous at first....until the movie started.  The images were amazing!  Stuff coming at you from every direction.  It was like a legal high and I felt like I was shrooms or something because some stuff was animated and some stuff wasn't, some was on the movie screen and some was right in front of my face.  Little blue guys running from a dog and hiding in colorful mushrooms.  It was CRAZY!!  My whole paridigm on reality began to shift and as I got lost in the beauty of everything going on around me and inside of me, I felt my ego slowly melting away.  It wasn't until an hour and forty minutes later when the credits began to roll that I realized that I really was on mushrooms.  I wasn't watching Smurfs at all...I wasn't even in a movie theater.  I was sitting naked on my loveseat watching a blue popsicle melt.  It was the best thing Hollywood's crapped out in years.

Rusta Rhymes rappin' for the No Knees Tour!

Hell yeah crackas!!  I'm doing a real life hip hop show on Monday, August 29th at Burt's Tiki Lounge.  The show's FREE and I go on first at 9:00, so get there early.  Headlining the No Knees Tour is The MC Type from Seattle, WA and my homeboy Solar One will also be bringin' some local 505 hip hop to the stage!

Albuquerque Film with Stand Up!

The Albuquerque Film Festival is here, and thanks to Jess Osbourne we now have stand up at the fest!  Make sure to check out the festival's website for a full list of events.  I'm super stoked to be a guest on the Comedy Film Nerds podcast on Friday!   I get to do the PodCast with Hector Jimenez (Nacho's tag team parter in Nacho Libre).  You can come check out the live recording for the podcast at Hotel Andaluz, Friday at 5:00pm...for FREE!  Immidiately following the PodCast will be a free stand up show.  I'm going to be running back and forth, because I'm scheduled to open the Music Videos & Webseries event at The KiMo at 6:00.  You'll also want to make sure to wake up early on Saturday and get to The Guild to see my buddies Matt Peterson and Marc Shuter at 10:00am in The Bigfoot Election.

This weekend's your chance to check out the hottest Albuquerque comedians and filmmakers, together at last!
